Opisthoteuthis borealis Collins, 2005

Maximum published mantle length is 75 mm, but clearly larger specimens do exist. It is an oceanic, bentho-pelagic species, distributed in the deep-waters of the North Atlantic; has been found down to 1350 m water depth. It is rarely caught, and only a few specimens are known to date.
