Lepidochitona cinerea (Linnaeus, 1767)

 

Synonyms:

Chiton cinereus L., 1767

Lepidochiton cinereus Muus 1959

BIOICE stations: Not found in the BIOICE samples; two IINH museum samples. 

Other records: Southern part of Eyjafjördur (Óskarsson 1971)

Bathymetrical range within the area: No information, but usually under rocks just below the littoral zone

Substrate: stones, hard bottom

World distribution: Found along all European coasts from Tromsø in Northern Norway south to Portugal and into the Mediterranean Sea, north and northwest coast of Morocco.

World bathymetrical range: 0 - 275 m, most commonly intertidal and sublittoral.
