Monitoring of cliff-breeding birds

The importance of seabirds in the Icelandic ecosystem and the international importance of Iceland as a breeding ground for many species mean that close tracking of Iceland’s cliff-breeding birds is critical.

The IINH is undertaking a major long-term study of Iceland’s cliff-breeding seabirds, in partnership with the University of Iceland and the Marine Research Institute.
